FAQ's
1. Why
join Strike Force?
More than just
kicking and punching, we care for the whole person and take our art and
commitment to our communities seriously. Quite frankly the Strike Force
Karate Association (SFKA) is not for everyone. It is designed for
those:
· Who
have a serious desire to grow in their art
· Who
want to be exposed to other martial arts styles without the pressure to
change from their own style.
· Who
want to partner with other martial artists, of like mind, in order to
make a positive impact in their communities.
· Who
want to fellowship in a friendly atmosphere with like minded people.
2. Do
I have to change my style?
NO. We at SFKA
respect and welcome all styles of martial arts. In fact, style
diversity is highly valued because we can learn from each other. We do
not tolerate discrimination of any kind. We value the diversity that
comes from experience, rank, race, gender, ethnicity, nationally and
religion. Our diversity is our strength.
3. What is the structure of SFKA?
SFKA is divided into
two arms. The martial arts side is headed by a NIM (highest ranking
authority) and several style heads. The NIM and the style heads are at
least 8th degree and have at least 30 years of martial arts experience.
They are charged with maintaining the martial art integrity, discipline
and diversity and developing programs/seminars to enhance our
education. All promotions are sanctioned by the NIM and his/her board
of style heads.
The business side is
managed by a board of Directors. Although rank is not a prerequisite to
serve on the board all voting members must be a martial artist. There
are advisors that do not have to be martial artists. Among other
things, this board is charged with furthering the business of the
organization, administering organizational contracts, managing the
community of students.
5. What does SFKA want to do?
We want to be a
significant source of positive change by being of service to the
students, instructor and the community.
We want to expose
interested students to a variety of martial arts styles that are taught
by highly respected and experienced martial arts.
